Winterization & Seasonal Maintenance

OUR PROCESS

As the Summer season ends and seasons change, boat owners need to consider their long term winter storage plan for their boats. We consider winterization one of the most essential preventative maintenance steps boat owners in the Northern Nevada and California region can take. While heated, secure, & indoor storage is optimal, we recognize that is not an option for everyone. That's why Marine Specialties is proud to offer seasonal Winterization Packages to help ensure our clients can rest easy during the cold season.

Our process not only includes draining your engine cooling system but entails pumping the cooling system full of a non-toxic & pet safe antifreeze rated for -100 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition to this, we fog your engine to protect your exhaust system from potential condensation, as well as add Stabil fuel stabilizer to your tank to prevent your fuel from degrading and ruining your system in the spring.

Properly prepping your boat for long term winter storage is the best way to ensure when the Summer Fun returns, you're set and ready to get back out on your favorite lake! Check out below for a step by step description of our process and a list of our different Winterization Package options! Remember, the cold comes faster than you think, so book your Winterization Appointment at least a month or two before the temperature actually starts to drop.

WINTERIZATION PACKAGES

Summer Preparation:

Once a boat has been Winterized, naturally, it must be De-Winterized. Customers that choose to have their boat Winterized with us in the Previous Fall will be treated to a discounted Summer Prep Package! This Package includes not just having the antifreeze flushed out of your cooling system and accessories, but also a complete 70 Point Inspection, which covers Emissions & Saftey Standard Compliance Inspections. While performing the inspection, the technicians will pay extra attention to any components that were Winterized to ensure no Freeze Damage Occured.

After our Summer Prep Process is complete, you'll leave with a clean bill of health for your boat and be ready to get back out on the water! On the off-chance that your boat was Freeze Damaged during Winter Storage, we will assess the damage during the Inspection Process. From there, we will help you navigate which option works best for you to get riding again. Click on the Flyer below for more information:
